Welcome to the website that will serve as the feeding ground of inspiration for the new book by Silvia Pecota! There is currently no release date, it really is a work in progress.
We are currently looking for past or present serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces that are willing to submit their own personal quote or experience as it relates to certain values. We have come up with a few “values” and hope to get your feedback on what they mean to you, the Canadian soldier.
The current “chapters” we have come up with so far are: Patria, Valour, Camaraderie, Integrity/Truth/Justice, Defence/Protection, Fortitude/Perseverance, Duty/Service and Sacrifice these describe a certain value and we want to know what they mean to you.
Silvia wants your input in the form of a quote based on the values listed in the menu on the right hand side. Using the quotes that you provide, we are going to go through the vast archives of her photos and come up with a book! The book will be totally based on your quotes and matched with a photo that captures the essence of what it means to wear the uniform and be a member of the Canadian Soldier.

Silvia was selected to participate in the Canadian Forces Artist Program from 2003-2005. Since late 2001 until present, Silvia has been involved in the many varied activities encompassing military life and has documented varied events as Canadian Forces training exercises, various in-theatre missions, and countless parades and ceremonies honouring Canada’s troops.
