    Dear Silvia,

I can’t wait to read your new book :) I felt that I should include a quote from my late husband’s autobiograpphy: WO Frank Mellish 1RCR, KIA 03 Sep 2006 Op Medusa

“I have, “been there” and “done that”, over the years. In my time I have been around the world and lived its news headlines.  I have been boo-ed and applauded. I have seen death and despair.  Seen birth and growth.  Lived through horrors and held onto hope.  I have witnessed the fall of Communism and the rise of Terrorism.

Regardless, I’ll always be proud of what I accomplished and the choices that I’ve made.

And his favorite poem that I still place on my desk at work ever since his tour in Somalia. With his picture superimpose.

“I was that which others did not want to be
I went where others feared to go and did what others failed to do. I asked nothing from those who offered nothing and reluctantly accepted the burden of loneliness. I have seen the face of terror, felt the stinging cold of fear and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love. I have cried, felt pain and sorrow. But most of all… I have lived times that others would say were best forgotten. After it all, I will be able to say that I am proud of who I am…A soldier. ”

    God Bless
Thank-you for all your talents :)
